Brian Hubbard Medical Relief
Donation protected
It is with great sorrow that I appeal for your generous support for my dear friend and colleague, Brian Hubbard, and his family. Brian currently serves as a Technical Quality Expert at a non-profit organization in the Greater Denver Area, supplying life-saving medical devices to cancer patients and others in need. In July of 2023, Brian and his wife Chardae, a teacher in the Denver area, joyfully welcomed a happy and healthy baby boy named Mateo into their lives. According to all accounts, Mateo is a delightful presence, radiating joy and vitality with every giggle and smile, eagerly exploring the world around him, and spreading contagious laughter to all who hear it.
However, it wasn't until January when Mateo turned six months old that Brian and Chardae first noticed that all was not well with their precious baby boy. One evening in January, while being cradled by his mother, Mateo suddenly began exhibiting signs of respiratory distress, turning a frightening shade of blue and ultimately becoming unresponsive. Mateo’s parents urgently rushed him by ambulance to Denver Health, during which time he remained incapacitated. Fortunately, his doctors were able to revive him upon arrival at the emergency room. Following a battery of tests, which revealed no overt abnormalities, Mateo was discharged with his parents for monitoring.
Sadly, it wasn't long after this episode that Mateo began experiencing these symptoms once again, now tragically accompanied by violent and enduring seizures. Following Mateo’s most recent visit to Children’s Hospital Colorado, he was admitted to the pediatric intensive care unit. An electroencephalogram revealed that Mateo suffers from Focal Epilepsy within a certain region of his temporal lobe, likely causing his convulsions, dyspnea, and syncope. To alleviate his seizures, Mateo has been prescribed several antiepileptic medications while he undergoes further examination. However, despite these efforts, Mateo’s condition continues to deteriorate with each passing day.
As one can imagine, this incredibly distressing situation has not only caused immense emotional anguish for Brian and Chardae but has also imposed a significant and urgent financial burden upon them. The family is grappling with a multitude of medical bills for hospital stays and Mateo’s numerous procedures, including MRI’s, CT scans, and a plethora of medical tests. Regrettably, both Brian and Chardae have depleted the funds in their savings and retirement accounts to face this economic challenge and are currently dedicating nearly their entire income toward Mateo’s medical expenses. It goes without saying that with expenses continuing to accumulate, Brian and Chardae are in dire need of financial assistance.
In the face of this daunting ordeal, Brian, Chardae, and little Mateo find themselves in need of not only financial support, but also the strength and solidarity of their community. Your compassionate assistance can provide a glimmer of hope amidst their darkest days, easing the burden of their financial hardship and allowing them to focus on what truly matters – the well-being and recovery of their beloved son. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings them closer to the possibility of a bright future. Together, let us rally around this resilient family, offering our unwavering support as they navigate through this challenging journey ahead.
