Brian Gilboy Memorial (Doing Good Fundraiser)

Donation protected
On Monday,  Aug 31 we lost a wonderful husband, father, family member, friend and teammate, Brian Gilboy. For those of you who knew Brian and those who didn't he was the most competitive person you could meet with a huge heart. He was always the 1st one offering to help.

Brian worked with Kick It Forward which led him to take a bucket-list trip to Costa Rica to deliver donations.   With the help of generous donations from friends and family, as well as the support of the Ela Soccer community, we were able to bring soccer gear and supply backpacks with school supplies and uniforms to many families in need.  The experience was life-changing and Brian was especially touched by one of the families.

It became one of his last wishes to ask for donations in lieu of flowers in order to help this family.

Helping to build a home for a poor family he met in Costa Rica would mean the world to him.  Providing suitable shelter for the poor is one of the most simple and significant things we can do.

Here are some details about that family:

Soraida is the mother of this family she is 39 years old, the mother of 6 kids and is married to Mario and he is 57 years old. The family kids range from 2-21.

Mario works at the coffee farm and makes $500 a month , this money is just enough to pay electricity, water and groceries to eat basic meals every day.

When it is the coffee season the whole family has to go to pick up coffee and this is mandatory because the coffee farm provides them with a house, the same coffee farm owns a grocery store and they have to buy their groceries there or they won't be able to live there.

If the family is able to have a piece of land and build a house Mario can keep his job but he will be free to buy his groceries at any place he wants, because the farm is too expensive.

Whatever you can do to help Brian wIth this goal will be much appreciated.

Kind regards
The Gilboy Family
