Manville NJ House Flooded Hurricane Ida
My mom's house in Manville, NJ was completely flooded over night last night in the heavy rains from the aftermath of Hurricane Ida. My sister, my mom, her boyfriend and the cat and dog were all rescued by boat from the roof of the house this morning. While everyone is safe they have lost EVERYTHING! They left with the pets, the clothes on their backs and a small bag each. The house was filling with water almost to the third floor of the house when they left and was still rising. They will not be able to return to the area for several days if even at all. Everything on the first and second floor of the house is completely destroyed and floating in the rising waters. Everything in the backyard and shed have been swept away. The car in the driveway is fully submerged. Two houses in the neighborhood have exploded as of now. I was not at the house when it happened but still in NJ and was about to make the drive back to FL when I got the message early this morning. Please consider donating to the family as they will immediately need a place to stay and everything from clothes to toothbrushes to cat and dog food.
