Brian was truly one of a kind. Above everything, he was an extraordinary husband to Chelsea and an endlessly devoted dad to Gavin and Avery. His family was at the centre of his world, and he poured himself into loving them, encouraging them and making life full of adventure, possibility and fun.

And there was so much more to Brian. He was also beloved son, brother and friend; an artist, athlete, musician and entertainer; endlessly curious, creative and capable. He was strong and silly, deeply humble, patient and non-judgmental, and always up for an adventure. Brian showed up—for his family, his friends and his community—and lived life more fully and uniquely than just about anyone.

Brian’s death was sudden and heartbreaking. He was surrounded by love and care amid the stunning natural beauty that was so much a part of who he was.

Since Brian’s death, the outpouring of love, kindness and generosity surrounding his beloved wife, Chelsea, and their pride and joy, Gavin and Avery, has been extraordinary. So many people have reached out asking how they can help, what they can give, and how they can continue to support this family in the years ahead.

As Chelsea’s sister and a very proud aunt to Gavin and Avery, I have created this GoFundMe in response to those many requests—a place for all of that love and generosity to be carried forward for Gavin and Avery, supporting any opportunities, adventures and future endeavors they choose to pursue, guided by the values Brian lived so fully and instilled in them.
