Hi, we are fundraising for Brian and Kaitlyn Hickey. Brian was in a devastating car accident last week and was airlifted to Boston. He is facing several surgeries to repair a shattered leg, broken pelvis and other injuries. He is fighting hard to make it through this painful journey and is so appreciative of all of the love and support he’s received from friends and family.

Kaitlyn is pregnant and expecting their baby girl this spring. She has taken a leave of absence from her job to focus on being by Brian’s side in the hospital. She is his biggest cheerleader and support and has been with him every step of the way.

Brian’s sisters, Jennifer, Lenore, and Keri, and their extended families, have been traveling back and forth to Boston to help Brian and Kaitlyn get through this unbelievably difficult time. And Kaitlyn’s family, including her father, Doug, her mother Kathy and her husband Dan, and her sister Hannah and her boyfriend Cody have been splitting time between the hospital and caring for Kaitlyn and Brian’s two amazing dogs, Tucker and Miles.

Brian is set to undergo several surgeries in Boston and will then be moved to a rehab facility where he will have to learn to walk again. He has a long road ahead of him and needs all of our support.

Kaitlyn has been staying at hotels in Boston when possible to be right near the hospital so that she can be at Brian’s side at a moment’s notice during this critical period, but the hotel, gas, parking and food expenses are adding up quickly.

Please consider donating whatever you can to help Brian and Kaitlyn get through this incredibly challenging time. They plan to use the funds to allow Kaitlyn to be with Brian, as well as to pay bills and rent while Brian is recovering. Once he comes home, they expect that there will be significant expenses, including modifications to the apartment, ongoing physical therapy and other services, as well as the need for nursing assistance for Brian.
