Who this will help

Hi I am a friend and coworker of Elaine Heisler. I have established this Gofundme for Brian and Elaine Heisler in order to help reduce the financial hardship, distress and burden that they are experiencing as a result of Brian's treatment for cancer. On November 15, Brian, who is only 53 years old, was diagnosed with stage 4 small cell neuroendocrine carcinoma. Imaging tests show it to be in his stomach, liver and some lymph nodes.

Why I'm fundraising

Brian is a very hardworking, dedicated husband, father and grandfather. Together, he and Elaine raised a blended family of 5 children and have been blessed with 9 grandchildren. Brian adores his grandchildren and they adore him! He is Elaine's best friend and a good friend to many. Brian is also 'Dad" to his and Elaine's dog and cat. Brian loves spending time with his kids and grandkids, trying new foods, History documentaries, and (bargain) treasure hunting with Elaine at antique malls. They love their community, and they live faith-based lives. I cannot think of a nicer, more down-to-earth couple to try to help. I know they have donated for decades to Paralyzed Veterans of America and the local Food Bank as well as donating to St. Jude's Hospital

The impact of your support

Your support would go toward Brian's medical bills which are piling up at an alarming rate. They will have used all of their savings for the period of November 15th when Brian was diagnosed through the end of this month, December, due to the cost of diagnosing and treating Brian's cancer. By the end of 4 sessions of chemotherapy and the other related expenses, they estimate the cost to be just under $100,000. Brian does not have health care insurance and is currently unable to work at this time because of the toll the chemotherapy is taking on his body. Elaine is working as much as she is able, however, has had to take quite a bit of time off of work to take Brian to his appointments and chemotherapy, and to be caregiver when he is at his weakest during the treatment. She will have to continue to miss more days of work for Brian's treatments and appointments. Any help you would give to Brian and Elaine would be so incredibly appreciated by them. It will go toward medical bills that they will no longer be able to pay and would help to ease Elaine's mind that more bills can be paid and ease Brian's mind that Elaine will not be weighted under a mountain of debt. Please help them as they have helped so many others.
