On Monday April 2nd, Brian and Dora Aspelund were tragically killed in a car accident, leaving their 2 children, Matthew and Katelyn parentless. Brian was my co-worker, and a friend. He always had a jaunt in his step and a smile and hello for everyone. He and I shared about 5 feet of desk space for over 7 years, and he made me laugh every single day with dad jokes and his insatiable thirst for coffee.
Dora was a long time nurse in the Intensive Care Unit at the Ottawa Civic Hospital, who always put her patients first, and was always willing to lend a hand to her co-workers. She was a wonderful person who will be greatly missed by her ICU family.
Brian spoke fondly of his family, but mostly of his 2 kids: Matthew, in his second year of university, and Katelyn, finishing her last year of high school this year.
Please help support Matthew and Katelyn going forward with any expenses related to the funeral, as well as helping with their educations.
