Bri battles cancer aka:Loot for my lung.

For those of you who don’t personally know me, I’m Brianna, I help work to create smiles at a local orthodontist office. I love to be active, and anything that involves making family memories is my favorite. I’ll spare you the long details of the lead up to my current issue, but a few weeks before my 31st birthday, the Dr.’s sent me for a scan and by chance, found a decent size mass in my right lung. It’s been a lot of test, scans, and a lung biopsy, since then, but it was confirmed as a rare form of cancer. I do not have lung cancer but a carcinoid tumor inside my right lung. If you would like more details or to read up about this the American cancer society has some great information. They are confident it is the kind that won’t spread, unfortunately, it’s impossible where the tumor is to remove it. This means instead, they will need to take the entire lower lobe of my right lung off. Due to it likely crossing into the middle lobe, they have prepared me that, there is a good chance I will wake up without that as well. They promised to do all that they can to save the middle lobe, but right now nothing is a guarantee. Once they have and have tested the whole tumor we will know without a doubt, if it is the type the spreads or not. We are staying extremely positive and feeling very blessed to have found this by chance, and what appears to be possibly early. However we have an almost 9 year old, and a mountain of medical bills. The future holds a hospital stay ranging from 4-7 days, physical therapy, as well as weeks out of work. Anything we receive from this will go towards those expenses.

There are many worthy causes in our area currently, childhood cancer, fire victims, so I understand, and am truly humbled by any help we may receive from our community, or anyone willing to help. A share is just as great as a donation.We never anticipated being in a time of need, it’s taken some time and acceptance, to come to terms with how long it might take us to get through this, still we are staying very positive. We will be fine, lots of love and positive vibes are needed though. We are feeling confident that in time we will get through this just fine. -Thank you Brianna, and family.
