Bri & Ari: World Tap Championships

Arianna and Brianna Smith are two Toledo natives that have been chosen to compete in the 2018 World Tap Dance Championships in Riesa, Germany. They will be representing the United States and will be attending with the American Tap Company. They were selected by a committee and were hand-picked to compete at the IDO world championships along with tappers from all over the world. Tap Dancers from numerous countries all gather to compete in this elite event.

Arianna and Brianna started dance at the age of three. Through their dance careers they have danced competitively, and taught and choreographed for Evolve Dance Company. The girls are also members of the Detroit Tap Repertory. They have choreographed many dance routines and have learned from some of the best tappers in the country.

Arianna and Brianna have also been able to thrive academically throughout the years, as well as keep up on their dancing. Arianna Smith is an honors student and member of the National Honors Society at Springfield High School. Brianna Smith, who is a Springfield alumni, has made the Dean’s and President’s list during her first year of college at Miami University of Ohio.

Arianna and Brianna Smith hope to expand their knowledge in the art form, and improve as dancers as they embark on their journey. Any help getting my daughters to Germany would be greatly appreciated. This is truly one of their biggest hopes and dreams.
