My husband, Brett Woker, has been active on the Barnes kidney transplant list since September 2023. Brett is in need of a kidney transplant due to a congenital condition he has had since infancy. Brett has had basically just one kidney doing the work of two for the last almost 31 years. He has been seeing a nephrologist most of his life. We have been adjusting medications and diet to manage the symptoms of stage 5 kidney disease. He has not started dialysis at this point, thank God.

As of February 2025, it has been determined that I am a match to donate a kidney to Brett! Our surgery date is at the end of March 2025.

With that being said, we will BOTH be off work for a minimum of 6 weeks, traveling back and forth to STL for follow-up appointments. Brett could be off work for up to 6 months, depending on how everything goes.

We have two young children and will be relying on family, friends, and our church support during this time. BUT, that doesn’t cover our monthly expenses, diapers, groceries, etc.

If anyone can donate anything, that would mean the world to us.
