Hi friends and family. As you may know our dad, Brett Freitas, is battling Large Cell Lymphoma of the Brain and Pre Multiple Myeloma. Since beginning this journey in September, we have seen how this type of cancer affects his language abilities, movement, perception, memory, and judgment. He is missing out on his favorite things like fiddling with cars, throwing the ball with his grandkids, creating a backyard oasis for our mom, and bringing smiles to faces around California through his work at PepsiCo. His five daughters miss his tri-tip and endless stories at the dinner table, the five grandkids miss their papa’s hugs, and our mom misses her partner in life.

Our dad has been a true fighter during this whole journey, even after being diagnosed with COVID amid everything else. His amazing team at Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno have been a godsend and we appreciate the incredible work they are doing to make sure our dad feels comfortable during his hospital stays. Our mom has been his number one supporter, spending hours upon hours, everyday on the phone with medical professionals, and by his side every minute he is able to be home.

We know our dad also has an incredible tribe consisting of family, childhood friends, and many more who send prayers and good vibes our way. Our PepsiCo family loves our dad as well and has been amazing in helping us understand the financials and logistics of this cancer journey. We ask that you please donate to this gofundme account so that we can have better peace of mind knowing that both our parents are being financially supported through this journey as you all have been so wonderful in supporting us emotionally. All proceeds will go towards hospital stays, medical costs, gas to and from Fresno, and utilities/bills while our dad cannot work. His treatments are constantly changing, and while being as optimistic as we can, we understand the reality that life after brain cancer will be very different for our dad. Any additional proceeds that are not used will be donated to the American Brain Tumor Association so that our dad’s story and journey can be used to promote better understanding of this type of cancer.

We love you all and appreciate how supportive you have been during this process. Thank you for continuing to be a part of our tribe.
