Brett Edward Allen, 18, was shot and killed on January 14, 2021, while helping a friend. One of the many things that made Brett so lovable was his willingness to help no matter the time or situation.
Brett was a loving son, brother, and friend. A senior at North Pole High School, Brett intended to either join the US Marine Corp or follow in his father’s and older brother’s footsteps and join the Laborer’s Union.
Bretts tragic and untimely death is devastating to us all, but especially to his father, Steve Allen (Local942) and his older brother Jaymes Antrim (Local 341). Being raised by a single father, Brett was, as they say, “all boy”. He loved snowmachines, snowboarding, four wheelers, BMX racing, motorcycles and basically anything that involved speed and being outdoors. He was very creative and mechanically inclined and always willing to try something new, except homework! His devilish smile and quick sense of humor lifted the spirits of everyone who knew him. He will be sadly missed by all.
As Steve and Jaymes cope with this sudden and tragic loss, they really need our help. This family has many hard days ahead as they wait to put to rest our beloved Brett. Not only do they have to deal with the devastating loss of a loved one but also the 1st degree murder trial of the two men indicted for the savage and unnecessary murder of Brett, who was merely helping a friend. As we know, justice is slow and this family will need all of our love, prayers, and support over the next many months as they relive the horror of this tragedy in the trial process that will follow.
