Hello friends,
We’re so excited to announce our marriage and upcoming life changes! I’m (Brent) planning on moving to Canada to be with my wife Tatiana. To do so, I have to first move across the continent from Wisconsin to Vancouver as I prepare and apply for a spousal visa. Instead of a typical registry, at this time we’re asking for help towards visa fees and moving expenses.
Tat and I got married at a small ceremony in Vancouver on January 21st! Unfortunately, I had to leave the next day after a short trip there together. This has been our reality as a long distance, multi-country couple.
While we thought not seeing each other for five years before this trip was the hardest thing we'd have to face in our relationship, saying goodbye afterward we got married was much harder.
We vowed to get our visa process underway as quickly as possible so that we could finally get to what we've wanted for so long: a life together to start a family, along with Tat's service dog Moose and our little cat Sage.
We researched ways to make the process as quick as possible and talked to friends who have experience with spousal visas. We soon found out that while a visa application is being processed, the applicant is allowed to reside in Canada. We’re eager to make this happen and are so thankful for any help we receive.
We know how hard life can be and how much joy is had in finding your soulmate and starting your life together after marriage. We are humbly asking for assistance towards expenses required to kickstart this next chapter of our lives together. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
With the donations we would like to pay for:
- Canadian spousal visa application fees
- possible immigration lawyer or consultation
- car repairs for Brent's new used vehicle, outlined below
- gasoline and possibly lodging during Brent's cross country trip
- furnishing our new space together
- spay and neutering for Sage and Moose, after which Moose can begin his training in full
- anything additional will go towards living expenses as I wait for my work permit application to be processed
