Brent Herren Memorial
Donation protected
It was a sad day on Friday, February 1 when the Quantem PDX team arrived at work to learn of the sudden passing of Brent Herren, Operations Supervisor, following a brief hospital stay.
Brent, 41, was a former Army Medic and father of three children. Brent did all he could to give his children the best in life. As a huge sports fanatic, he encourage his kids to play and even coached their baseball, softball, and football teams. He was known around his community as being a great father and coach.
Brent also leaves behind his girlfriend, Sarah, and her two children who he adored as his own. Although he usually grumbled about not getting enough sleep, the PDX team knows that his weekends spent with all five kids was well worth it to Brent.
Brent joined the Quantem team 3.5 years ago and, following his initial training, he was immediately put on forklift duty for PDX's peak season. Shortly thereafter, Brent was promoted to the position of Lead and then to Supervisor of the UPS AM shift in mid 2018. Although this is known to be one of the most difficult shifts across the company, Brent rose to the occasion and was well liked by the team of, on average, 85 direct reports.
Quantem was more than a job to Brent. He once shared with his friend and General Manager, Chris Zukowski, that his job with Quantem meant that people believed he was more than a disabled vet and could do more with his life than just carry that title.
Brent will be missed greatly by his friends at PDX. May he rest in peace.
To help with the incredible and unexpected costs associated with Brent's passing, you are invited to contribute through a donation before February 18. Your thoughtfulness will be greatly appreciated by Brent's family.
All donations will be provided to Brent's mom, Patricia Millen, as beneficiary. Donations will assist Patricia with the costs associated with Brent's passing and will also assist Brent's children.
