On Sunday afternoon, 6/28/20 we said goodbye to Brent Collinwood our brother, son, and friend who was involved in an accident. Knowing Brent was knowing kindness and happiness in their purest forms. It didn’t matter what Brent was doing, he was never too busy to lend a helping hand. He was quick to smile with a contagious laugh that lit up the room. His enthusiasm for life’s experiences carried through into everything he did.
Among his friends and family, Brent fulfilled many roles. He was the life of any party with fun ideas and engaging conversation that brought everyone together. One-on-one Brent’s gentle heart made him a close confidant to many, an excellent listener, and a rock of a friend. If you needed him, he would be there, no questions asked.
At work Brent excelled in all of his projects and was greatly respected by his colleagues for his vigor and attention to detail. Brent always did his job 110%. One of his defining attributes was his incredible work ethic that just never quit.
Brent not only worked hard but he played hard. Between his turbocharged car and taking his motorcycle to the track, speed was his passion. His pursuit for adrenaline also included snowboarding, scuba diving, bull riding, and sky diving. He was a real outdoorsman and loved hiking, camping and shooting.
He recently adopted a Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy named Blaze. Blaze became very sick the week after adoption, and the vet gave him little hope of survival. Brent’s big heart kept him next to Blaze day and night nursing him back to health. Blaze recovered and became Brent’s constant companion for all of their outdoor adventures.
Our hearts are somehow both full of love remembering who Brent was and is, yet still broken from the heartache of losing our beloved son and brother from this earth. We gain comfort knowing that Brent’s journey continues across the veil with the same enthusiasm for hard work and love for those around him that defined his life here on earth.
