My name is Taylor, and I am the DIL of Terry and Brent Nelson.

About a week ago, Terry was admitted to the CCU up in Christiana Hospital due to having an unexpected stroke. Brent and their son Thomas are watermen here on the Chesapeake Bay. The oyster market is sometimes unpredictable. Not only worrying about a consistent market, but being self-employed, both Thomas and Brent are unable to work while having to travel from Rock Hall to Christiana every day since.

She is unable to speak, but can still communicate at times through her eyes. Luckily she is able to move the right extremities somewhat. As of my last most recent update was that the swelling in her brain has neither increased, nor decreased. This is good news according to the doctor's.

The road ahead is going to be long and rough for months to come, given the best possible outcome. Please pray for Terry more than anything. That's the most valuable tool here.

If you don't know Mrs. Terry, she is a spitfire and quite feisty. She is so full of love, and in her current condition, it feels like something has been missing from a part of our lives. She loves my daughter, her granddaughter, Daphne, to pieces. Daphne just turned 1 on December 31st, with her stroke happening days after celebrating such a special day.

Terry was working at the local elementary school as a lunch lady, so she also supplemented income to the household. Without Terry working, the income has nearly been cut to more than half. Her benefits from her job cover Brent, and it's just an all-around heart-wrenching situation.

Terry and Brent have been together over 35 years. Brent is definitely not technologically literate, nor does he really want to be. This is why I have started this GoFundMe to help with any expenses that are to arise in such an unpredictable time.

Terry has a twin sister named Sherry. They are the dynamic duo! A twin bond is only something twins would know. As you can imagine, everyone is beside themselves.
