Brenna's Journey with DIPG.

Thank you for taking the time to hear our story. On January 24th Brenna was taken into the emergency room for stroke-like symptoms. They sent her home saying she needs to follow up with a neurologist this week. My mom had a bad feeling, and took her to Johns Hopkins emergency room on January 25th. After two MRIs and incredible teams of neurologists and oncologists, they have diagnosed Brenna with inoperable Brain Steam Glioma. The tumor is about the size of an egg on her brainstem. They have given her about a year to live.
My mom has taken her leave at work, which is unfortunately unpaid, her husband is still working. She is not the one to ask for help and was very hesitant about having me start a Go Fund Me page. But on top of travel expenses, medical expenses, expenses for my mom to stay in the hospital with Brenna, and costs moving forward, we know they will grow quickly. We understand the goal is extraordinarily high, but it is a year's worth of mortgage payments, utilities etc. We are trying to lessen any burden we can so they can focus on moving forward and giving Brenna the best life while also treating her.
This isn’t the end, we are exploring every avenue we can. We are contacting St. Judes. We are hopeful. We are embracing every prayer, and good thought sent our way. We appreciate everything everyone has done for us thus far and moving forward.
