In July of this year, my dear friend Brenda was diagnosed with an aggressive triple negative breast cancer. The diagnosis came as such a shock to her family and friends. Brenda is a young, active and caring woman, wife to Brent, and mother to 10-year-old twin boys, Lucas and Jacob.
Brenda and her family decided to put her cancer treatment into the skilled hands of the doctors at Roger Maris Cancer Center. They began her treatment plan with placement of a port and chemotherapy treatments every other week. Her treatment plan is to undergo 8 rounds of chemo. Round 4 was this week, halfway done! A recent ultrasound showed that the chemo is working and shrinking the cancer tumors. Great news!
Brenda recently also found out that her breast cancer is genetic, so it is likely that after chemo she will undergo several surgeries.
The chemo treatments have made Brenda feel ill and very fatigued. In turn, she has had to refer some of her clients out to other stylists, so she is experiencing quite a loss of income which will continue for a number of months. As we all know, cancer treatment is very expensive and their medical bills will start adding up soon. If you are able, please consider donating to the Syster family as Brenda continues her fight. No amount is too small and every donation will be greatly appreciated. Let's support this wonderful lady and her family! Thank you!
