Hi, I’m Maiya, Brenda’s daughter. Here we are AGAIN.

Brenda was taken to the hospital by her husband, Mike, about 2 weeks ago with severe abdominal pain. Given her history, they decided to not take any chances and get checked out. They sent her for an X-ray which showed a thickening on one side of her bowel and was ordered a CT scan. The CT showed an 18cm mass in the right side of her abdominal cavity.

she had since had an MRI which determined the placement of the tumour. She’s met with her Oncologist in Moncton who is transferring her case to Halifax. The doctors feels that it will be operable but they are sending her for a PET scan to be sure the cancer is nowhere else in her body before scheduling her surgery.

This is a massive surgery which will put her off work for several weeks, along with her husband Mike as he will be accompanying her to Halifax and providing home care.

I put together a Go Fund Me in 2021 for her last surgery and it was so successful, it took all financial burden off of my parents so that she can heal without the worries of how to make ends meet.
