Brenda's Journey: Easing Her Burden

Brenda Mendoza and I have known each other all our lives, our parents being high school friends that got our families together often. She has had a string of catastrophes this past year and is looking to her community to ease her burden.

Brenda was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast and bone cancer a year ago and, with aggressive treatment, now has a 50-percent chance of living another three to five years. She has not been able to work in the last year and is on Social Security, which barely covers her monthly expenses and is not enough for medical copays for the treatments and scans she needs. She has needed several expensive repairs to her small condo in the last few months, including HVAC replacement, water heater and HOA assessments beyond the usual monthly fees.

I'm hoping we can reduce the stress caused by these financial burdens and let her have some peace to heal. Please donate whatever you can!
