My name is Brendan Mueller, I am a Junior at Howell High School and a member of Boy Scout Troop 300 in Howell. When I first thought of my Eagle Scout project, I wanted to do something to honor the veterans of Howell. My first thought was to build a monument, but while doing some further research, I discovered there were already monuments within the town in front of the former Town Hall building. After talking with my family and Boy Scout troop, I decided that I should move the monuments from the former Town Hall building to Soldier Memorial Park, an appropriately named park and in a more central location in town.
My project will move the three monuments that honor the veterans from WWI, WWII, the Korean and Vietnam wars. I will also be building a paver patio that surrounds the flag pole at Soldier Memorial Park. All donations will be put towards the purchase of pavers, landscaping materials, and the relocation of the memorials.
Please help me in my efforts to relocate the war memorials and build a paver walkway at Soldier Memorial Park. Update: Hello everyone and thank you all for your support, it has been encouraging. So far I have raised about $4000 and sold 24 pavers. Over the last 2 months, I have set up tables at the local farmers market and at a Marine 5k run in Freehold NJ. I have also met with the Howell VFW and they have helped me out greatly. I still have a long way to go for my tentative unveiling on Veteran's Day, 2021. Please continue sharing my fundraiser with your family and friends. Thank you all for your support so far.
