Brendan Evans debut Classical Guitar Recording
Donation protected
At long last I am in the midst of recording my debut classical guitar album. After many years of playing this music in concerts, competitions, masterclasses and lessons, I have begun recording my interpretations of some of the jewels of the classical guitar's repertoire. The selections span several centuries of music, with pieces from the Renaissance, Romantic, and Modern eras, as well as a couple of Flamenco transcriptions.
This project is being undertaken with John Finbury of Green Flash Music as the producer, and Bob Patton as the audio engineer. I have selected the Rockport Unitarian Universalist Association's church sanctuary as the venue because it is one of the area's best guitar rooms - in recent years I have had the pleasure of playing monthly for the congregation and have come to really love playing in the space. As a result I hope this recording has the sound and feel of a live performance, as opposed to the more controlled (and edited) results a studio recording would produce.
I am seeking donations to make this effort as worthwhile as possible, with funding needed for the following:
Recording costs
Mixing and mastering
Acquiring permissions for use of copyrighted work
Videographer for one recording session
Pressing the album on CD and vinyl, and distribution to streaming platforms
Retaining the services of Crossover Media, a New York based PR for three months of promotion

Please follow the link below to hear an exclusive completed track from our first recording session - one of Francesco da Milano’s exquisite fantasies, early polyphony from 16th century Italy written initially for lute.
A contribution of any amount will help me create this album, which I hope will be a testament to the beauty and power of the guitar. Music is a heritage skill that I am honored to practice, and recordings are a very important and difficult aspect of the modern player’s career. Cost of recording has been an impediment for me in the past, and with the encouragement of friends and artistic supporters I am launching this fundraiser.
Here are a few ways I want to thank supporters, based on your level of support:
$35 - CD mailed to you
$65 - Vinyl mailed to you
$100 - invite to my album launch party this summer on Cape Ann, and choice of album type. (date TBD)
$750 - you and a guest are invited to a private supper concert this summer on Cape Ann, to the launch party, and your choice of album type.
