Brendan Charles Davern
February 9, 1985 – June 28, 2020
Most precious son of Alicia Davern Syrell and Thomas Ford Syrell went to be with His Lord & Savior, leaving those behind heartbroken and hopeful for our reunion.
Brendan was a beautiful light in this world. He brought joy and laughter to all of those who loved him. He took life on at full force, making the most of every moment and fulfilling his many dreams. He worked hard, played hard, and studied hard. He obtained a BS in Accounting and Finance at Northeastern University, graduating summa cum laude. He went on to receive his MBA in Finance from Boston University School of Management.
Brendan was especially proud to be an alumnus of The University of Notre Dame – Mendoza College of Business, graduating cum laude with his MS in Accountancy.
He achieved his goals of climbing that corporate ladder that cost him many sleepless nights and gave him and us a few grey hairs. He became a V.P. in Investment Banking at Wells Fargo Securities, a career that he thrived on.
Brendan shared a love of classic rock and vinyl with his parents. One of his favorite bands was Boston, not only because he loved their music, but also because he loved that city and for a while considered it his home. Brendan always enjoyed traveling both in our homeland, but also abroad, recently visiting Iceland and his beloved Ireland. Seeing and enjoying God’s beauty gave him great joy. Brendan grew up with an innate love for his country, always in his blood and in his heart. He made his momma so proud of his continued allegiance. He loved history and “war stories”, and we talked about them often. It was a huge part of our journey together.
Brendan loved all things authentic mid-century modern (might know where he got that from), recently purchasing and furnishing such a home with attention to every detail. Brendan always had an artistic side, constantly drawing, sketching, working on models, making silly movies with his friends. He recently took up woodworking, both creating new pieces and refinishing old ones.
This beautiful boy was pre-deceased by his “Poppy” Keith A. Davern, and his “Grandma Sarah” Churchill. So many are left to grieve his absence and hold each other tightly his uncle Charles (Bobbe Jo) Davern; his cousins Ashley (“my Ashley”), Lindsey (“Binzer”), Tyler (“Baby Tyler Keith”), Joselyn, Clarissa (“E-Clair”), Colin, Rylee, and Jackson
We love you our boy “Tree Frog” “Bobey Tuna” “Recon”. God speed.
As long as I’m living my Baby you’ll be…
