My name is Dana Randall, and I am helping my son Brendan Randall raise funds so that he may compete in this year’s Junior Olympics, which is taking place in Greensboro, NC, from July 30, 2022, through August 6, 2022.

Brendan is 14 years old and will enter his sophomore year in the fall of 2022. He first started running track in eighth grade and set a record for the 200-meter hurdles. During his freshman year, he made the Varsity track team! This is Brendan’s first year competing in the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) track and field sports organization. He qualified for the Junior Olympics in all three events (110-meter hurdles, 400-meter hurdles, and 4x4 relay).

 

Brendan is a scholar and an athlete. He is a National Junior Honor Society member. He is a card-holding member of MENSA, has a 3.8 GPA, is deeply involved in student government at his school, and is running for class president in the fall. In his free time, Brendan builds computers! When Brendan was just in fourth grade, his interest in computer coding led him to lobby the school administration to implement a coding club. The school agreed, and the coding club is still going to this day. As an additional pass-time activity, Brendan is learning how to play the guitar, and he mentors middle school-aged children when he can.

 

Due to the increased travel costs, we hope you will help us offset the cost of getting Brendan to Greensboro to compete. Any money not used for the Olympics will be deposited into Brendan’s college fund. The money will be used for an eight-day car rental, fuel to drive to Greensboro, NC, from Michigan, and an eight-day hotel room rental.

 

We hope my son’s story inspires you and you find it in your heart to help him compete! Being able to compete in the Junior Olympics will give Brendan an experience that he has never had! It will prepare him to compete at an advanced level and make him an overall better athlete by competing against others at the national level.
