Let's help celebrate Brenda Surkund

Hi, my name is Amanda (aka Mandy).

On Monday, November 18, 2024, at approximately 5pm, the sweetest, most caring soul, was struck by a vehicle and instantly killed, in Greely, Ontario, Canada. Her name, Brenda Surkund and she was only in her 47th year.

I have known Brenda and her family since 1997, as Brenda loved to remind me. Brenda was a high functioning autistic savant (as she like to put it). She was also confirmed to have HSAM (Highly-Superior Autobiographical Memory). She wowed everyone with her exact dates and stories of past memories of herself and those she came in contact with, especially the birthday dates....you tell her the date, she tells you what day of the week that it was and what happened in her life that day, including the weather if she had noticed it.

Brenda loved life, her family, friends, coworkers, her special needs workers, neighbours, cats, care bears, Minnie and Mickey mouse, walking and shopping! Most of her shopping was for other people. She thoroughly enjoyed showering the ones she loved with early birthday and Christmas presents. Life will no longer be the same for anyone who has had the pleasure of meeting her.

I've started this GoFundMe because not only is this family low income, they also can't seem to get a break (Father passed in 2022, Mother diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2023, and now this horrible tragedy). If anyone can use a break in this world, it is them. They never ask for anything and they always give, give, give. Their home has always been open and welcoming for anyone who was in need, and now they are.

Please help this family give Brenda a Celebration of Life she deserves. Thank you and bless you.
