Brenda Robinson Memorial

MARCH 22, 2020 started as a normal day, Brenda M Robinson was holding her new grandchild Milani amid the Coronavirus Pandemic in our world. Brenda’s youngest daughter Dajana (Milani’s mom) started to ask her mother if she was feeling well. This came after seeing her look what she called not like herself. Brenda being the (elephant of the family) strong individual she  replied I’m fine and the same interaction would take place the next day as well.

On day 3, MARCH 24, 2020 Dajana and Nahsiim (Brenda’s grandson she raised) now saw their mother’s situation worsening as she seemed very lethargic and also suffering from fever like symptoms. Dajana rushed her mother to Broward General where she would be immediately admitted to the ER and visitors were not permitted to follow. On MARCH 24th when admitted Brenda was almost immediately diagnosed with Pneumonia. Doctors and nurses would begin treating her for her symptoms and would administer the test for Coronavirus as well. Days would go by (which felt like months) and Brenda continues to say she’s freezing everyday to her children from her room phone. Her breathing also continues to depreciate.

MARCH 29, 2020 with Brenda’s ability to breathe at a minimal Doctors make the decision to move her to the ICU where she would be placed on a Ventilator to assist her oxygen intake and breathing! At this point there were still no results back on whether Brenda actually had the Coronavirus or not but with her having all of the symptoms the Doctors decided to start treating her for it right away. She would remain steady for days in the ICU with her levels fluctuating off of several drugs such as the recently popular Plaquenil (hydroxychloroquine) and Zithromax (z-pack) etc. Brenda was in an induced coma!

One of the most EXCRUCIATING parts of all of this nightmare for Brenda's children, was not being able to see, touch or pray with their mother. All they had to rely on was over the phone information doctors and nurses. Every time the phone rang the family feared for the worst, on APRIL 4, 2020 they were  finally told she was diagnosed with having the Coronavirus! Being the fighter and leader everyone knows her to be, they had no doubt she would come out of this even Stronger!

After 19 days in the hospital fighting the Coronavirus and 15 of those days on a ventilator their mother and everyone’s friend, Brenda M. Robinson passed away on APRIL 11, 2020. The phone call was made to her son Christopher that the inevitable was approaching. That conversation lasted 59 seconds and the nurse called back 30 seconds later and told him that at the exact moment she hung up the phone Brenda was able to stop fighting and  breathe her last breath. Brenda leaves behind 4 children, 6 grandchildren as well as sisters, brothers and many many friends who loved her dearly. Her daily life included watching her granddaughter Milani for  Dajana ( 21 yo) as she went to work. Brenda also raised her grandson Nahsiim from a child who is now (17 yo) and has lost his main parent figure. She always made sure she cared for everyone else, she was the TRUE definition of SELFLESS! All Brenda ever wanted to do was Spread Love to the world.  She was motivated to clean up pollution, feed the hungry and help the homeless! No one  Had A Bigger Heart!

Death already brings so much emotional pain in itself. Unfortunately Brenda’s death being as unexpected as it has been, has left her children with many financial hurdles. These include Brenda's final proceedings (proper burial). The only sad but positive news the children received was that they would be able to give their mother a proper burial unlike many other unfortunate situations. We as the extended family and friends are reaching out for prayers and to help raise money for Brenda's children who were put in this HORRIFIC  unexpected situation. In addition,  to help with unforeseen  medical expenses, necessary bills during this COVID-19 pandemic and the financial  burden that comes with such a TRAGEDY.  If you can please donate please do, anything helps!!
