Funeral Cost for Brenda Sue
Donation protected
Brain cancer took beloved Brenda Sue Ritchie this week. She wasn't able to work and didn't have insurance so sadly, she left us quickly without the medical care she needed. Now her two children (and three grandchildren) are scraping together whatever they can to pay for a cremation and small service. Brenda wanted to be buried, but the expense is well beyond what the family can afford. But even with cremation and a small service, we've fallen short of the cost and we are asking for the kindness of her extended family, friends, and strangers to help.
Let me tell you a little bit about Brenda Sue. She had the heartiest laugh and was so proud of her USMC son Gabriel and her daughter, Moriah who would sing to her mom and lighten any room. Brenda Sue found her peace with God and nature - before her cancer diagnosis she could be found riding a horse or kayaking on the lake.
Brenda had been suffering from headaches but had no idea the extent of what was happening. Then Brenda suffered a seizure that had her sent straight to the hospital. It was from that seizure that doctors on Christmas Day 2018, diagnosed her terminal brain cancer (GBA; Glioblastoma Multiforme). She fought for over a year and unfortunately the cancer finally won.
Due to unforeseen circumstances her family was not able to be with her and prepare for necessary arrangements. We are heartbroken that she is now gone, and yet so thankful she is no longer in pain. We pray for the kind of peace that surpasses understanding to rest upon the family and rest upon each of their hearts as they walk hand in hand through the days and weeks ahead.
Brenda Sue had no life insurance so anything will help her family cover funeral cost. Funds raised will go directly to cover the costs associated with a service, burial, and putting Brenda to rest. Anything beyond the direct costs will be used for a donation to another family here on Go Fund Me with funeral needs.
