Brenda, my mom, has a multitude of severe health challenges. These include diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, and osteoarthritis, heart failure, kidney failure, cirrhosis of the liver, and other failing organs. She is in desperate need of a new bed and lots of other medical expenses. Both the diabetes and the arthritis cause her to have painful Charcot foot in both feet, which means the bones in her feet and ankles have crushed and consolidated into hard masses that threaten to puncture the bottoms of her feet. Her hands are severely crippled and every knuckle in every finger is affected. Her knees and hips are in need of being replaced. She has sleep apnea, and the doctors can't do surgery because of high risk of complications caused by her other conditions. The supplies for the CPAP machine alone cost her $2000 for just 3 months. She has cataracts in both eyes, and diabetic retinopathy in both eyes. All these conditions cause her to be housebound and in chronic severe pain. Money raised would help to cover the costs essential medical equipment and services.

UPDATE:

This last week, I took my mom back to the doctor, and she was given the choice to go back on hospice, or try to find a surgeon willing to take the risk of repairing her hernia, which has gotten so big, it’s putting pressure on the organs and will be her cause of death if not fixed. So she wants to go that route, in hopes of gaining more time.

I decided to deliver for Door Dash since I can make my own hours, because we’ve been coming up short every month, and are currently $200 short on rent, but my transmission is slipping again, and the repair from February was guaranteed for 12 months/12,000 which ever came first. I’m still within the guarantee for 500 miles, so I’m taking my truck back in the morning, hoping they can fix any issues, and I can get back out there. Everything has been a struggle lately, and any assistance is greatly appreciated.
