Joyce is remarkable woman who has overcome so many things in her life. She is an amazing testament to wife, mother and grandmother. In 2010 she began a battle with an unknown illness. 18 months later she was finally diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. A terrifying illness that had only one treatment. A bilateral lung transplant. Through the grace of God, on May 17th, 2013, Joyce received that life saving transplant, to which she and her family are eternally grateful for to God and her donor.
Between then and now, she has battled through ups and downs that come with being a transplant recipient. Joyce has been an amazing testament to what God and modern science can do.
However lately there have been more downs than ups, and Joyce is now once again, suffering from extreme medical conditions. She was diagnosed with acute renal failure in June of 2019, another terminal illness with only one cure.
Unfortunately, this time Joyce is not a candidate for transplant. She is receiving dialysis, but the dialysis has not given her the results we had hoped for.
At this point Joyce has been in and out of the hospital every other week in attempt to stabilize her condition. Due to this, her devoted caregiver and husband, Jay Hunter has had no choice but to take FMLA, leaving them with no source of income.
Joyce needs round the clock care now, as she is too weak to care for herself. Insurance will not provide this kind of care at the moment.
Jay has worked diligent the past 10 years through all of Joyce’s illness to provide her with the top care she could possibly receive. Between co-pays, medications, lab work, and extended hospital stays, along with regular household bills, they are now in a situation where financial help is greatly and disparately needed.
We are asking for donations to help the Hunter Family through this very difficult time. Please consider donating to help Joyce and Jay.
