Brenda Brown's Birthday Wish to Help Her Husband

Hi, my name is Tess and I have a best friend (Brenda Brown) who is going through major trauma with her husband (John Mates) and his health.

Just over the past two years, John was vibrant and working full time and feeling fine, outside of a few aches and pains. The transformation over this past year has been devastating to witness... even though he does his best to be in good spirits.

His health began to decline with back problems, so in June 2022, John went in for a routine checkup before back surgery when the doctors alerted him of a major heart condition. He was thrown into emergency surgery for a quadruple bypass. He had to be put on life support and wasn't released from the hospital until 28 days later.

Since that time he has tried to continue working, but his conditions were falling downhill fast. He has now been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer AND colon cancer, where only 2% of the population in the world gets two types of cancer at the same time... meaning that metastasis cancer is cancer that grows from another cancer and spreads. These are two completely different cancers.

John is not able to work - his prognosis is terminal - and it is very hard for me to write these words, as I always am a pollyanna and hope for the best. Any amount of a donation will assist with his medical bills and at-home care. Each day his medicines are off-the-roof in costs, as his insurance doesn't cover some of these transitional meds.
