"I woke up one morning and my life will never be the same" Brenda
said with tears in her eyes.
Brenda lost mobility of her arms and legs Easter Sunday.
In the ER she was told she
needed urgent surgery, upon which they discovered a tumor wrapped
around and compressing her spinal cord. Doctors removed as much as
safely possible in a 5 hour surgery. The doctor told her he had never
seen anything like it, required significant hardware placed in her
cervical spine and needing a cervical brace to be worn for weeks.
After further testing, Brenda was
diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL).
She was in ICU post-operatively for 7 days for pain control, also
receiving blood and platelet transfusions. She then transferred to
rehabilitation for 5 weeks of intense physical and occupational
therapy.
She endured 4 weeks of radiation to the remaining tumor.
The medical chemotherapy treatment for her CLL will be lifelong.
Brenda is now able to walk with assistance now. She has 30% use of
her left side and 50% of right side.
She is currently unable to work.
Brenda always has a kind heart and so willing to help others.
Brenda now needs our help to raise funds for her medical bills and care.
Please help Brenda & her family by offering a donation.
It would be greatly appreciated.
Together we can make a difference to reduce some of the financial
stress they are facing and allow them the
time to focus on what truly matters....Brenda's journey to wellness.
