Breeze, Kelly and Richard

Hi, my name is Kim and i am fundraising for the treatment and care of Breeze on behalf of Kelly and Richard Nadeau. I have copied and pasted some of the information about what they have been going through and some answers they have been given.

Breeze has been seen by a neurologist, a critical care specialist and associate veterinarian — together. I had compiled a list of everyone’s suggestions, shared experiences, and observations and the physician was kind enough to go through the list with me and have a transparent discussion about steroids, canine chiropractors, DM, ear infection complications, blastomycosis, exorbitant costs, and a litany of other possible factors and issues. We landed on Myasthenia Gravis (MG). The vet actually mentioned it first, and it triggered for me because it also should have been on the list. A wonderful gal — a Godsend — who has a relative of Breeze had her dog diagnosed with it and she and I discussed it privately. The symptoms and signs are all present. I’m so grateful she took the time to send me insights on her experience — her dog has almost fully recovered but there are serious implications and complications associated with it.

Breeze has now acquired Aspirated Pneumonia. Her chest x-rays from my clinic on Monday showed no signs so she has just picked it up as part of her deteriorating mobility, or her EPI could have factored in — it is also a symptom of MG. She has been moved into ICU for closer observation and care, she is on antibiotics and receiving, I still believe (and even more so after my conversation with the medical professional), the best possible care. I cannot play the “what-if” game — it is not productive, and every experience I’ve had with this hospital has been exemplary. I just want our girl to be okay.
