Hello, My name is Monique and I'm raising money for my dear friend Bree Wylie for her ongoing medical expenses.

Here is her story-

On the 21st of November 2021 Bree - Mother of two and her family's life was changed forever.

Bree was diagnosed with an auto immune disease and had to have surgery to have her thyroid removed, she returned from surgery seemingly okay until next minute a MET call led her to the ICU unit.

During surgery the surgeon had made an error and removed one of her parathyroid glands also.

The parathyroid glands control the body’s calcium levels by producing parathyroid hormone (PTH). This hormone works to keep blood calcium levels from getting too high or too low, which is essential for the healthy function of nerves, muscles, and bones.

Since this medical error/negligence Bree has been in ICU and has had to attend the emergency department over 300 times to get IV calcium to replace the lack of calcium in her body.

Sadly Bree has genuinely lost her quality of life.

Bree now injects herself twice daily, takes oral medicine as well as a significant amount of pain relief. Unfortunately, none of this keeps her stable. She suffers from excruciating pain from muscle spasms and cramping which keeps her in bed majority of her days.

Bree has two girls, aged two and four. Heartbreakingly, Bree is not able to properly care for her children due to her condition.

She is lucky that her family has rallied around, her Mum moving to Alice Springs, and her Dad retiring from work to be able to look after her children for her. Josh does his best but has to work long hours to keep the family afloat.

Bree's ongoing medical trials and daily medications/specialist appointments are very costly and any help would be appreciated enormously.
