Hello My People!
About a year ago I birthed my latest solo show Breed or Bust, a raw tragic comedy about abortions, baby making and being a childfree grown-ass woman. I am SO grateful to all of you fabulous humans who came out to see the show, some of you multiple times. A million thank you's to everyone who sat with me in the dark theater to laugh, cry and revel in the magic of storytelling. This show has taken me on a wild ride and the adventure continues. This summer…drum roll, please…Breed or Bust will head to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland, the biggest fringe festival in the world! Wowzer.
I will be performing the show 26 times during August. Here we goooo!
This is an incredible opportunity for Breed or Bust....and an INCREDIBLY expensive one! As it turns out, producing theater costs money! Who would have thought?
I make a silly joke in the show about how I might need to start a GoFundme campaign to freeze my geriatric eggs. While I will not be doing that, I AM starting a Gofundme after all...to send me and my geriatric eggs off to Scotland…
As our reproductive choices here in America are evaporating before our very eyes, the topic of this show has never been more important. The timing of this show’s birth - pun intended - was eerily uncanny, premiering for the first time just months before the fateful supreme court decision last June. It has been fascinating performing a show that deals very intimately with abortion during this heated time. Be part of history and support Breed or Bust as it blazes a fire through the taboo of abortion, breeding and babymaking.
I am reaching out to you, my beloved community for support. With your help, I can bring Breed or Bust to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and share this important message with a wider audience and open up new opportunities for this show!
No amount is too small. And no amount is too big...
The Math
5 people @ $1000 = $5000
10 people @ $ 500 = $5000
20 people @ $250 =$5000
50 people @ $100 = $5000
50 @ $50 = $2500
100 @ 25 = $2500
ABOUT THE SHOW:
To breed or not to breed? That is the question award-winning writer/performer Joyful Raven wrestles with in her new solo show. Skillfully combining unabashedly honest storytelling, standup comedy, and dark humor, Raven navigates the complexity of modern womanhood with a nuanced perspective on a woman's right to choose. She recounts her difficult reproductive choices and contends with her primal baby-making instincts. Should she surrender to the role of weird auntie, or start a GoFundMe campaign to freeze her geriatric eggs? Come for the laughs. Stay for the sex education…in case you forgot how babies are made.
It’s salacious, it’s silly, it’s sad, it’s satirical, it’s sex education. It’s fierce, it’s feminist, it's funny. It’s edgy, it’s earthy it’s the elephant in the room. It’s Breed or Bust.

LOVE FOR THE SHOW:
At the 2022 Hollywood Fringe Festival, Breed or Bust won the Producer's Encore Award and was Nominated for Best Comedy.
