Breeanna Kouba, our niece and daughter of Morgan and Jayne Kouba, of Regent, ND was in a car accident in Levelland, Texas on the morning of Oct. 28th. The accident left Breeanna with a major spine injury. She had a four hour surgery to insert rods and screws.
She feels her Bible Verse on her back is so appropriate for her present situation.
She is in extreme pain. She got to see her incision on her back today and it's looking good! We are a little worried about her legs gaining function back completley because one of my thighs is completely numb and her feet and butt are tingly. Hopefully they can get her urination under control but time will only tell!
She got to walk around for the first time in her brace yesterday (Tuesday the 31st) The neurosurgeon thinks there is a great chance everything will go back to normal as time progresses. Prayers for her body to start cooperating would be great. Her injury was a little worse because her bones were in an unusual spot so they were brusied by her spine badly and damaged her l3 bones and all the nerves that function the lower part of my body. Breeanna may need rehab to help gain her performance back. She will reamain in the hospital for 4-5 days.
According to Breeanna " I would have never guessed such a thing would happen in a car that didn't roll or anything. I also will end up having to get a new car as my car will be considered totalled. I am very thankful for everyone being there with us and for us in this time in need. We really do have great friends and family."
Any money donated will help cover the costs for the family including hospital bills, therapy, airfare, a car, and many other unknown costs. Prayers are requsted for a full speedy recovery. The funds will be needed within a month to cover the upfront costs from the hospital.
