My name is Faith Teske. I lost my daughter... To addiction on July 30th, 2024.

She was such a beautiful soul, she was the girl that had a smile that could light up any room. She had spunk, and sass, she tell ya like it was no sugar coating or anything, and so opinionated... I swear it was like looking in the mirror at a much younger version of myself and when she spoke its like she spoke the words I spoke. She was my mini me...

Life got hard for her. Breeanna had lost me to addiction for some time, I guess you can say the very most important years of her life when a young lady at that time really needed a mother... I too was lost in my own depression, I became selfish and self centered. Breeanna would still show up for me when no one else wanted to, she tried to love me so much in hopes I would sober up soon... And that in all honesty wasn't enough, I had to want it myself, to do it for me.

It wasn't till years later I got sober (I've been now close to 2 years sober this November), during my absence Breeanna developed a taste for alcohol, she started a life in addiction in my foot steps. That was just the tip on the iceberg till these recently few months she got into something much more life threatening... fentanyl.

WHY? WHY? why?..... why

You know I could appreciate her honesty though, she told me when she first fell into addiction to fentanyl. I was so angry and hurt, and completely beside myself. But I remember that she too must of felt that same way too when she heard I fell into addiction when I did. So I changed my attitude towards it. I stepped up and continued to show up for her when she needed me to the bitter end. And even now I still show up for my other kids, I still work my program, I reach out to my supports as its all apart of my recovery so I can over come this one day at a time...

Its not going to be an easy road for me, and my family, but with our resources of support team we have, this will get easier in time, it'll still hurt the same though. And I know my girl would want us to continue with life moving forward.

She will always be forever 21 in our hearts and memories.

During this time myself and the family is looking for any donations to help cover the funeral expenses. It is going to cost little over $500 to bring her body home to Bonnyville as we are out in Edmonton. And the cost of her plot to burry our daughter is $200. That so far is just a rough estimate. I am just starting the application for funeral arrangements, I am certain I will need to put a deposit down of some sort. this is just all new to me. Never in my life I would have thought I would be burying my child, something a mother shouldn't have to do as my kids should be burying me, but this is life. And Breeanna wouldn't want me sitting around worrying, so I'm doing my best to continue life moving forward with the respect of her.

Thank you for anyone and everyone who took the time to read my post and who has helped get this going. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Thanks again.
