Hello Facebook Family and Friends:This is Doug and Connie Heck, and some of you may know that Doug has end stage C.O.P.D. Recently, we tried for a Lung Transplant but were denied because of heart issues. We have been to the University of Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, been in contact with UAB in Birmingham, AL, and cardiologist in Knoxville and Nashville. We have some new hope with a new procedure to repair the heart first and repair the lungs for some quality of life. In doing so, we have exhausted all finances and resources due to insurance deductibles, medical copays, medicine, travel expenses, and the list goes on. Connie left her job to take care of me believing the lung transplant was going to be the answer to prayer until I was turned down due to a damaged left ventricle of my heart. Vanderbilt recommended that we try the Go Fund Me Account. Hopefully, we can move forward in the new procedures.
