My story…where does one begin. Willie is my name, but most call me “Junior.” In 2008, I was diagnosed with COPD. Quite shocking because I never smoked a day in my life. It actually came from me not knowing I had walking pneumonia for months and went untreated. It did quite a number on my lungs, which caused significant damage that doctors told me could not be reversed, and I was later diagnosed with Interstitial Lung Disease and pulmonary fibrosis.
Fast forward to 2020. I caught COVID, and that’s when I became dependent on oxygen and found out due to severe pulmonary hypertension, my health was declining. God is good and there seems to be hope. I am now listed on the lung transplant list at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL.
To help with such a life-changing experience, any contribution that you would like to give would greatly be appreciated. Contributions will go towards relocating, traveling, and medical expenses. A lung transplant is a second chance at living, a chance to breathe freely again, something that I pray to look forward to.
God bless each of you and keep me in your prayers!
