Let me introduce you to a beautiful, vivacious, kind and incredibly sweet girl. The person I'm talking about is my niece Aimee Tuley.
Aimee is my vivacious, sweet, loving, spunky beautiful 21-year-old niece and she and her family need your help!!
THE BACKSTORY....
Aimee fell ill with pneumonia about a month ago and was put on antibiotics. She went into the ER a few days ago letting them know she was not feeling any better. The doctors there did a chest X-ray and found that not only was she not better, but the pneumonia had moved into her other lung. Her blood oxygen levels were low so they decided to admit her and put her on oxygen.
Unfortunately by morning her oxygen levels had dropped to a dangerously low level, so the doctors decided to sedate and intubate her and put her on a ventilator in an attempt to get better blood oxygen saturation. This also did not work. Aimee fell deadly ill within a matter of 24 hours.
The doctors made a decision to have her transported to St. Joseph's Heart Hospital where she was placed into a medically induced coma, on meds that sedate, temporarily paralyze and have an amnesia affect so she's not hearing things and feeling anxious while she's under. They are doing this to keep her body perfectly still while they remove the blood from an incision in her thigh, pump it through an ECMO machine (in layman's terms, an external lung) to add oxygen and then add it back into her body through an incision in her neck.
She is currently in critical condition and this is deadly serious. She is on three antibiotics and numerous other meds intravenously. They are checking her blood oxygen every two hours and doing daily chext X-rays and currently has a feeding tube. She has received a blood transfusion and will likely need several more in the coming days. It is anticipated that she will need to be on the ECMO through at least Friday
When....AND YES WE ARE BELIEVING IN WHEN....Aimee is recovered enough to be released from the hospital, she will need constant care as her rehab will be extensive and slow-going. She has a long road ahead of her, but Aimee is and always has been a FIGHTER and will push through. She has an incredible fighting spirit!!!
While she's recovering, her mom Rhonda will need to find a temporary place to live where she can care for Aimee 24/7 while she's rehabilitating.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Prayer is essential, but Aimee's family also needs financial help. As you can imagine, on top of the emotional toll this is taking on her parents and brother, the financial burden in crushing! Michael and Rhonda (Aimee's mom and dad) live in Houston, Texas while Aimee lives in Savannah, Georgia where she attends SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design). Their medical expenses are astronomical.
THIS IS WHAT YOUR DONATION WILL GO TO:
- THEIR DEDUCTIBLE. Thank God they have good insurance, but their deductible is $10,000, which they will most certainly surpass with the extreme medical care Aimee is receiving as well as the length of time she will be in the hospital.
- AIRLINE FLIGHTS FOR HER MOM, DAD AND BROTHER. They have purchased one-way tickets, as they do not know how long before they can return home.
- HOTEL. They are currently staying at a hotel located near the hospital so when they need to shower or try and sleep for a couple hours, they don't have too far to go and aren't away for too long.
FOOD - Of course there is a large expense for food during this time as Aimee's family is forced to eat out a lot while they are away from home.
- TEMPORARY HOUSING FOR A MONTH OR MORE. After Aimee is released from the hospital, she will need constant care for several weeks. Rhonda will be staying in Savannah to care for Aimee 24/7 while she rehabs. Rhonda will need to pay for temporary housing during this time.

There is no such thing as a small donation. We believe that just like Jesus was able to take two small fish and a few loaves of bread and multiply it to feed a multitude, He will take every donation and multiply to provide for Aimee and her family's needs.
