In December 2023, Sagar Raj’s life took an unexpected turn when he was diagnosed with cancer during an emergency visit to the hospital. The journey since then has been a rollercoaster of emotions, but Sagar's determination to fight has been unwavering.
Sagar bravely underwent chemotherapy, believing it was his best chance at defeating the cancer. However, the treatment came with a devastating side effect – severe damage to both of his lungs. After 9 weeks of battling through chemo, Sagar found himself facing a new, urgent battle for his life.
The cancer may have been conquered, but now Sagar faces a new challenge: the need for a double lung transplant. His only hope for a future where he can breathe freely again lies in undergoing a complex and costly transplant procedure. Thankfully, he has been accepted for this life-saving surgery at Cedar Sinai Medical Center.
Sagar has been transferred a total of three times starting from Sutter Roseville Medical Center where he was admitted from April 3rd to May 7th, then he transferred to Keck Medicine of USC where he spent May 7th - June 2nd, and most recently as of June 2 he transferred to Cedar Sinai Medical Center. It was originally thought that Keck Medicine of USC could do this surgery, but unfortunately they could not, this prompted the transfer for Sagar to go to Cedar Sinai. Sagar and his medical team have been working tirelessly towards regaining his strength and health to undergo the transplant. Every day is a struggle, but with your support, we can help alleviate some of the burdens weighing on the Raj family’s shoulders.
Your generous donations will go directly towards covering the overwhelming medical expenses associated with Sagar's lung transplant journey. From the transplant procedure itself to post-operative care and ongoing rehabilitation, every dollar makes a difference in giving Sagar the chance to breathe freely once more.
Let's rally together as a community to ensure that Sagar can access the life-saving treatment he desperately needs. Your contribution, no matter how big or small, can bring hope and healing to Sagar's life. Thank you for your kindness and generosity. If there are any funds remaining, they will be donated to local charities.
