Breast cancer beat down for Kim!
Donation protected
On February 4, 2016 my entire life changed. Being diagnosed with stage llB breast cancer at the age of 23, with no family history or genetics to blame it on was a huge shock to everyone, especially me.. but my positive attitude and amazing support system has made this journey a thousand times easier than if I had to go it alone.
Due to my young age and the size of the tumor, I began an aggressive, 5 month chemotherapy regimen, which caused painful side effects for days on end, resulting in my inability to continue to work full time. I have managed to make it work since then, but now things are getting tougher, medical bills are rolling in and piling up, and my money is quickly dwindling. My surgery, a double masectomy, is scheduled for July 27, 2016, and it will keep me out of work for at least 4-6 weeks, then possible radiation after that, then I will be on Tamoxifen for the next 5 years to try to prevent the cancer from coming back. I have exhausted all of my vacation and disability time at work, so the entire recovery period will be unpaid, and with a mortgage to pay, car payments, as well as other bills and basic necessities, being unpaid for that period of time is terrifying.
Needing to ask for help with all of these costs, when usually I am the one offering the help is extremely difficult for me. I try to do good for others as often as I am able to, but now I am the one asking for the help. Every donation, no matter how big or small counts and every positive thought sent my way is more than appreciated. I promise to pay it forward when all of this is over and will always continue to offer help to others whenever I can. Thank you so much for your time and donations. Please share!!
