If you know me, you know I usually try to find the humor in any situation—and this one is no exception. I’m currently preparing for a major "construction project": I’ll be undergoing a mastectomy and later reconstruction.

While I’m looking forward to being on the other side of this for my long-term health, it is an intensive process that involves traveling. The recovery for both the mastectomy and the reconstruction is a marathon, and I’ll be stepping away from my normal routine and work for several weeks to heal properly.

I’ve set a goal of $7,000 to act as a safety net while I focus on getting back on my feet and navigating the logistics of post-op care. And future surgeries later. This fund will directly help cover:

Travel & Stay: Costs for traveling to the surgical center, staying nearby during the initial post-op window, and trips for follow-up appointments.

The "Recovery & Reconstruction" Kit: Specialized post-op garments, medical supplies for wound care, and the comforts needed to manage recovery.

Essential Monthly Bills: Keeping my housing and utilities covered while I’m away from work, so I can focus 100% on healing instead of due dates.
