I never imagined I would be asking people for help with something so personal, and this is probably one of the hardest things I've ever done.

Why I'm asking for help.
I’m asking for help funding for a breast reduction because having very large breasts has affected almost every part of my life. No matter what I weigh, they remain large, and I live with constant back, neck and shoulder pain. Sleeping is very uncomfortable, exercising is painful, finding clothes and even finding a bra that fits properly is a huge struggle.
It affects me emotionally too. I often avoid going out because I feel uncomfortable and self-conscious. Even at work, something as simple as finding an X-ray gown that fits is a challenge and I have been asked many times to leave the room because no gowns were covering me enough to protect me, and that was very embarrassing.
I've become so used to people commenting on my breasts that I feel like I've become "the girl with the big boobs" rather than just being seen as me.
I don't want my breast size to continue being an obstacle to doing my job or participating in everyday life.
I have already explored having a breast reduction through the NHS. I was assessed by doctors, surgeons and physiotherapists. I qualify for it and surgeons were willing to proceed even with my BMI, but unfortunately the funding was denied.
Why now?
Losing my dad changed the way I look at life.
He became ill and, within a year, he was gone. Watching how quickly life can change made me realise something that I had been putting off for years and: I don't want to keep waiting to live my life. I realised that I've already spent too much of my life putting things on hold because of my breasts.
I want to go out with my friends without worrying about how uncomfortable I feel. I want to exercise without worrying about pain. I want to wear pretty dresses. I want to sleep comfortably. I want to feel confident at work. I want to wake up without my body already hurting.
Most of all, I want to stop feeling like my breasts are stopping me from living.
I've found a clinic in Spain that works with patients from the UK and offers breast reduction surgery regardless the BMI. Spain is also relatively accessible for me, as I have connections to both the UK and Italy, and the surgery is considerably more affordable than some other private options.
What your donation would mean to me
I don’t want a whole new body. All I need is the chance to feel comfortable in the one I've got.
I know this is a lot to ask, I know that asking people to contribute towards surgery is a huge thing, and I don't expect everyone to understand or contribute. But if you have ever struggled with something about your body that affected your everyday life, you might understand why this means so much to me.
If you can donate, no matter how small, I will be incredibly grateful.
And if you can't, simply sharing this would mean more to me than you probably realise.

Thank you for reading my story and for helping me take one step closer to finally feeling free, and thank you to anyone who chooses to support me. ❤️
