✷ my name is sofie (also known as holden), and i've identified as non-binary for over a decade. for me, gender-affirming care has always looked like breast reduction. ever since i hit puberty i've felt insecure and frustrated over my chest size, and for this entire duration of time, my quality of life has suffered. after jumping through numerous medical hoops, i've finally been scheduled for breast reduction surgery! unfortunately, i will be reaching my out-of-pocket maximum for year through insurance by undergoing this procedure -- and although i feel lucky to even be able to undergo the surgery, i'm petrified by the cost.
