For Renee Dill!! Breast Cancer Warriors UNITE!!

Hey y'all,

You know Renee Dill? The one that makes your hair FABULOUS? The woman who has the best come-backs and witty sayings that make you laugh out loud? Yeah, she has breast cancer. And it sucks.

Her fiancé' just had a triple bypass surgery on his heart in early December, an unexpected diagnosis as they remodeled their dream home in Kennesaw. LITERALLY as he was having his heart surgery, Renee had a call back on her mammogram, making sure there wasn't a "shadow".

Oh, but there wasn't an easy revisit....United Healthcare and Wellstar (Kennestone Hospital) severed ways, and there wasn't a way for a revisit on the mammogram. Thanks to friends she knows (thank you S.R.), Renee was able to have that revisit, and it revealed calcifications in her left breast.

MRI revealed her entire left breast is taken over by cancer. Stage 2.

2 of her lymph nodes are taken by cancer as well. A PETscan showed she does not have cancer anywhere else in her body (thank the Lord!).

Renee has now had to find NEW doctors (from whom she has known for years and who know her, thanks to United/Wellstar split). She has to drive from Kennesaw, GA to Northside Hospital (22 miles one way) to just sign documents or to have her scans, MRI, Ekg, PETscan, Chemo, etc. And gas is SO cheap right now...

Renee's insurance doesn't cover surgical. A port is surgical. Northside considers an EKG (where there are no incisions or puncture of the skin) SURGICAL. I was there. This isn't a lie.

And just in 2-3 weeks, she now in $20,000-ish (in no exaggeration, might even be understating?) in bills. Thanks to United and Wellstar.

I know this goal of $100,000 is steep, but I know (too many) people who have been through this and it's not even the tip of the iceberg. Double mastectomy in February/March will run up a bill more than the chemo, and the bills will continue to come.

Medical bills are CRIPPLING, and I'm past feeling helpless in any way that I can help my friend who has been an incredible rock in my and my girls' lives.
