In August, my sister Bethany found 3 large tumors that turned out to be Grade 3 cancer that had spread throughout the breast and into the lymph nodes. After going to several specialists, they told her the cancer was too extensive to save the breasts, which was another dose of really difficult news. They've scheduled her for major surgery next week to get as much of the cancer out as possible, which means six weeks of recovery time where she won't be able to do many things by herself. And then they'll need to follow up with chemo and radiation to keep the migrating cancer cells from setting up camp in other places in the body.
All of this has been really difficult news for our family, and a lot to handle all at once. My heart broke when I heard the news because we all just lost our dad less than 2 months before. Bethany has really been holding back about getting treatment because she doesn't want to put a financial strain on the family. With the funds from this page, she can get the life-saving treatment she needs to come out the other side of this healthy and cancer-free, to be able to stick around for her four sweet children and grow old with her beloved Johnny. ♥ Thank you for everyone who has reached out to comfort her in this time, and thank you for any support you can give, it is deeply appreciated more than we can express.
