We're raising funds for an extraordinary woman, a breast cancer survivor and single mother of five, who is now facing a devastating injustice.
On April 21, 2025, she and her children were forcibly evicted from their home in Peachtree City, GA. Despite having a pending appeal in Superior Court. This eviction wasn’t just illegal; it was a devastating act of retaliation after she reported dangerous housing conditions to code enforcement.
She had called Peachtree City home for 13 years. She chose the area intentionally, driven by love and commitment to their future. She moved to this house in March 2024, she chose this particular house not just for its location, but because it was the only place spacious enough for her entire family to live together under one roof: safe, connected, and whole. Instead, she has been met with mistreatment, neglect, and injustice.
After a year of ignored repair requests and hazardous living conditions, she finally called in code enforcement, which confirmed the major violations.
- Sewage backups, no hot water, and broken toilets
- Leaking roof and electrical hazards
- Toxic mold and water damage
Despite all this, she continued paying rent, hiring licensed professionals, and doing all she could to keep her children safe. With a pending appeal, the eviction went forward. The family was forcibly removed from the home, and everything they owned was stolen, destroyed, or discarded by movers hired by the landlord, some of whom were seen throwing their belongings off a second-story balcony like trash.
Among the destroyed items were priceless family heirlooms from her late parents, family photographs, and other personal treasures. Some of her children’s belongings were even spotted online for sale by members of the landlord’s family a shocking and cruel betrayal.
This mother moved her family to Peachtree City seeking a better life. She made sacrifices to access quality schools and a safe community only to be left homeless, traumatized, and robbed of everything.
She appealed the case. She filed the correct paperwork. As of June 2, 2025, her appeal was still pending. But that didn’t stop the eviction or the loss. The property has already been listed for rent again.
Now, after already surviving breast cancer and raising five children, she is forced to start over from scratch.
