Breast Cancer Surgery and Recovery Fund
Donation protected
Hi all, thank you for checking out my GoFundMe. This is the first time I've done something like this. For the past two years, I have been quietly navigating early-stage breast cancer called DCIS. Through constant monitoring and mammograms every 3-6 months. My most recent mammogram and ultrasound followed by a 2nd biopsy revealed a high-grade and also significant growth which has called for immediate surgery to remove the breast tissue via a mastectomy. Because I want to avoid radiation and having to take estrogen-blocking pills for 5 years and constantly be monitored I have opted for a mastectomy rather than a lumpectomy in my breasts.
This is my first time ever going into surgery, and I can use all the support possible to help me with the medical expenses and recovery from being out of work over the next 2 months while I recover. As I turn 40 on September 23rd I ask that you consider donating to help me have some peace of mind and cushion with expenses during this time.
It's true that early detection can save lives and I'm fortunate that this was caught before it became invasive to the rest of my body.
I also hope that this will create more awareness for other women as well to get checked regularly.
2023 has been a tough year, but as I always say "tough times don't last, tough people do." I would be nowhere if it weren't for the many people throughout my life who have helped me along the way, and this time more than ever I would like to call on your support. Thank you for helping me get through this, and I'll also welcome any visitors, helpers, and food delivery after surgery as well if you are local! If you aren't able to donate, please keep me in your prayers and thoughts for a smooth and infectionless surgery and recovery.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart and happy 40 to me!
Yours truly, Ana Q
