Breast Cancer Support for Debbie

Hi my name is Laurie and I’m fundraising for Debbie Cousineau, as she has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

It started 6 months ago when Deb noticed a lump. Her GP sent her to get a mammogram, followed 2 weeks later with a call to the Breast Clinic at The General. There, Deb was told what we all hope to never hear, ‘it’s cancer’.

Just like that, Deb’s world was turned upside down. With the support of her loving husband Tony, they prepared to tell their two young sons Mason and Lucas.

Next came meeting the surgeon, preparing for surgery and all that would follow. The plan, a lumpectomy and sentinel lymph node biopsy.

Two months to the date of diagnosis, Deb had the surgery. The Doctor is happy with the results, and Deb is now recovering at home.

Still waiting for further results, wether treatments such as Chemo and/or radiation will be necessary. We are all hoping for good news, and a smooth healing journey.

Anyone who knows Deb, knows she’s the first one to help someone in need. Wether it’s baking cookies, dropping of a meal, driving kids around… Deb is the first one to offer a helping hand. It’s because of this, I am hoping we can come together to help Deb in her time of need.

As a server in a restaurant, EI is limited. Having only one income for an undetermined period, and Xmas vastly approaching… help is needed and greatly appreciated. Every little bit helps!
