Hey friends. It's Kory & Kelly here. Our mom was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer back in October and since the day we found out, we have been driving back and forth from Toronto to Goderich, and bringing her to Owen Sound to most of her appointments. Every appointment is usually about 9 hours of driving for us in a day. We just found out that the cancer has spread and is now in her bones and her spine. It's now Stage 4, and she's been giving maybe a year or 2.
We have always been much better at helping others, but we've had a difficult time reaching out when in need of help. We felt like we needed to set any pride aside and do whatever we possibly can to help our mother at this point.
It's been one of the hardest things that we've had to go through so far in life, trying to balance out personal and business along with helping our mother to this level. Our energy feels pretty tapped out, but there is no stopping.
All of the meds that she is being given are to simply prolong her life as much as possible, but at this point, none of it is meant to cure her. It's impossible for us to just accept this as truth. We both have to explore other options. No matter what happens, this is all we can do.
We are coming to you and asking for help. Any donation would mean the world to us. We are planning on bringing her through other forms of healing and there will be some major expenses which we just can't cover on our own, nor can our family. Not only do we want to try holistic modalities with her, but the true colours of our medical system have shown up, therefore we want to get her into a private program where it's all under one roof and minimize the chance of miscommunication. The system that she has been going through has been disconnected and spread out too much. We definitely want to streamline this process and give her the best chance of surviving.
Absolutely ANY donation would help, and we could at least take a shot at truly helping her heal rather than just prolonging her life by a little bit.
This is very challenging to reach out like this, but we feel like there is still a chance for her to heal and survive this, and we hope that you can help in some way, even if that means sharing this fundraiser with your network.
Thank you so much for listening. Sending love to each and every one of you.
Kory & Kelly McLaughlin
